Customer Reports

I’ve been pumping every night, almost every 2-3 hours at night to get enough milk to have some time during the day to run around other errands and to spend time with my oldest child during the day. I have had so far a really good experience with this pump. It has strong suction and the breast cups are soft on the breast. I made sure that they fit properly and have not had a friction issue that hurt my nipples so far neither. It is really a good pump to try out as it does the same job as other brands out there for a higher price. I also love the fact that I can adjust the suction and pumping levels to what works the best for me.

I love this pump. I’ve used other pumps and have come back to this one again. It’s super easy to use and this bundle has everything you need!! Paired with a pumping bra, you’re good to go! I’ve never used the app before this and it’s amazing! I don’t have to carry a notebook around with me this time. Would totally buy it again!!

2. NatureBond Silicone Breastfeeding Manual Breast Pump

In breastfeeding, every drop of milk counts. But are you able to catch every breast milk leak? If not, this silicone manual breast pump can help you do that.

Yes, there are a lot of different models out there. But what if you have the chance to choose the best silicone breast pump the market has to offer, trusted by other moms?

I’m sure your answer is closer to, “I’ll go for it!”

The NatureBond Silicone Manual Breast Pump is one of such.

It’s one of the nice models out there for managing both breast engorgement and breastmilk leakage. Without the paint and comfort!

Ready to learn more? Here are some more features:

Added Comfort and Convenience

The newest version of this unit doesn’t have any pour spouts. This is unlike other silicone pumps.

And that is a good reason for that too.

As advised by lactation consultants, the spouts in the breast pump can cause discomfort and pierce on the skin. And that the absence can make for a smooth expression.

Therefore, the 2019 version of the unit didn’t come with it. So, ensure that’s the version you choose if you decide to go for this one.

The surface of the unit is even and smooth. This helps in eliminating the itchy feeling on the skin when it’s in use. This can make pumping enjoyable and less stressful.

And lastly…

The circular flap is improved such that it’s softer than previous models. So, it’s all about enjoying your next pumping session.

But that’s not all:

It Boasts of a Good Build and Design

The maker of this pump uses a varying level of thickness in the construction of the unit. This is so that they are different at each pressure point.

Thus, moms can now have a personalized suction pull. You can adjust the force of the suction relative to match your immediate needs without losing comfort.

This is a good development for busy moms who want to get things done as quickly as possible.

Lightweight and Easy to Use

Aside from offering a natural way to manage engorgement and breast milk leakages, this silicone breast pump is so light.

And so easy to maneuver.

You could handle it with just one hand, while your baby nurses at your other hand.

Compare to other manual and silicone breast pumps, it’s also very portable. You can tug it into your diaper or handbag quickly enough. And it’ll only add a modicum of weight.

If you’re looking for a comfortable silicone pump to help you save more milk during your letdown phase, you should consider this model.

Believe the hype. I too was skeptical but it is so worth it. I struggle with low supply. Understand that this does not replace an electric pump. I was having trouble fitting in times to pump, I have 4 kids! So I wanted to give this a try. It pulls out your milk with suction so it’s more like a manual pump. The baby is 9 weeks, I have a crazy overactive letdown but I was still very surprised to see that I’m getting 1.5 to 3 oz per feeding from this! That’s as much, sometimes more than what I get from my double electric pump.

I just used this for the first time – my baby is 5 days old and couldn’t latch onto my engorged breast. Hand expressing in the shower did little to help, so I pulled out this manual breast pump and it was a game-changer. I managed to collect nearly 2oz of milk within 15 minutes (in the back seat of the car on the way to his newborn appointment no less!), and after that my baby was able to latch on. I’m definitely excited to add this product into my everyday routine at this point. No wonder it came so highly recommended!

3. YIHUNION Portable Electric Breast Pump

Another portable electric breast pump on the list. Though not as popular as the Medela or Lansinoh breast pump, but still one that many moms fancy.

Here are some of the advantages of going with this:

Easy to Take Along

This portable breast pump comes with fewer parts. So, there is not a lot that’ll go into your bag.

Lower accessory to worry about means it’s easy to drop in your bag and travel with it. Since it only weighs 1.75 pounds, it won’t add too much to your already heavy luggage when you’re on the go.

Enjoy the Mini Pump Bag

Yes, it comes with an extra pump bag. And that’s means easy times for moms on the go.

For new moms just learning how to get their baby gets the best every time, anywhere, they can take advantage of the bag that comes with the unit.

It’ll accommodate all the pump, its accessories, as well as other things you may want to add into the bag.

It’s stylish too.

So, it won’t break the style you’ve spent so much time to make up.

Easy to Use

Aside from being portable and suitable for travel, it’s easy to use the YIHUNION Portable Electric Breast Pump too. You can detach it with ease when it comes time for washing.

It’s dishwasher-safe too. So, you’re not limited to just handwashing alone.

This makes it a good one for nursing moms at home and on the go.

Choose Your Pumping Level

There are 8 pumping levels in the massage mode to choose from in the massage mode. This means you can choose one that suits your preferences and get better lactation.

The levels are also visible on the LCD display so you don’t get confused when using it.

Very Quiet

This pump has just 48 dB (decibels) working noise, which means it stays quiet during operation.

The main benefit is that your baby can sleep soundly while you pump beside them.

Now that’s a good way of quenching the fear of pumping late in the night.

Multiple Charging Options

It’s powered by a 900mAh battery, which is more powerful than a lot of Android phones. Yes…that means it’ll last very long.

You can use it for up to 6 times before you need to recharge it.

Again, you can charge it using your laptop, computer or power bank using the USB charging cable.

Or you can plug it directly to a wall socket.

Customer Reports

This pump gets milk out faster than my insurance – provided Madela pump! And it’s more comfortable! I use the Kiinde bottle system, but I appreciate that this pump has an attachment to directly pump into any bag. I use a pumping bra so that I can do other things while pumping (like drive or work around the house). I’ve ordered a second one so that I can pump both sides at once (and have different levels of suction per side haha because one side flows faster).

Mary H

Less than a week before traveling and five minutes after a passive-aggressive phone call with another pump company‘s customer service, I was trying to figure out how I could produce bottles of breastmilk while traveling without sacrificing half my entire luggage for a pump. This beauty has a sleek little USB charger, can connect directly to the bottle and all the attachments and pump fit in a makeup case.

4. Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump – Second Best Pump

Pump in Style Advanced is one of the most recommended by experts. The Medela Pump comes with a stylish Tote bag.

Moms consistently choose this bag for its elegant design, easy portability and easy transportation of the pump’s accessories.

It is a daily use breast pump suitable for moms who pump several times a day. The backpack model makes it an anywhere-pumping tool for moms who like being on the move.

The In Style Advanced Breast Pump stands out from other ordinary pumps, thanks to its 2-Phase Expression technology.

With the Medela pump, you have a choice to pump either one breast a time or both. For those mothers looking for Medela breast pump for small nipples, this is a good option to consider.

Is this a Small Flange Breast Pump?

If you are looking for a small flange breast pump, you may be able to find one from the Medela brand. In terms of the smallest flange size, Medela stands at 21mm for nipples up to 17mm diameter. This makes it a good option to consider if you are looking for a small flange breast pump.

What We Like

  • You can set your favorable suction peed
  • Medela Pumps spares are easily accessible
  • Features double-pumping capability

What We Dislike

  • MIlk leakage is a big possibility
  • Its open design may facilitate mold growth and requires consistent washing

The Verdict on this Breast Pump

One of the best breast pumps on the market is made by Medela. These breast pumps are there to help you breastfeed your baby for as long as you want.

If you like breastfeeding more than bottle feeding and you want to breastfeed your baby for more than 6 months, you need something that will help you achieve this goal, especially if you are on the go.

This advanced breast pump with on-the-go Tote is a good choice for you.

This review is not about the pump itself, because there’s little debate that it is one of the best double-electric pumps out there. I have been using it to pump at work twice a day and am very happy with it’s performance.

I want to comment on the Metro bag style in case you are trying to decide between the tote bag vs. the backpack vs. the Metro bag. The Metro bag is working out great for me.

Jamie Colunga

I highly recommend it for any mom looking for a strong pump that is easy to use on the go and that will consistently capture the most milk for the time spent pumping. Better yet, it’s been updated to look more modern and be even more portable without losing the powerful function which after all, is the most important aspect of any pump!

5. Medela, Harmony Breast Pump, Manual Breast Pump

The Medela Harmony Breast Pump comes with everything you’ll need for pumping in a convenient way.

Even though it comes with a lot of accessories, it’s still portable enough to go on all those journeys with you.

Here are some nice benefits you’ll get with this pump:

Intuitive Design

As a manual breast pump, this Medela brand comes with a swivel handle that’s not only soft but also ergonomic. Now, you can pump for longer with no early hand fatigue.

There is also a stand to put the storage bottles on so you can get milk straight into them without spilling. So no more wastage.

There are lids on the bottles too. They might just come in handy when it’s time for storing breastmilk.

A Good Manual Breast Pump

If you’re looking for one of the best selling manual breast pumps on the market, this is it.

It helps you get more milk pumped in less time, although with more effort compared to an electric breast pump.

Even with that, it can help you go at your own pace.

Not the arbitrary one the machine puts on you. You can control the flow and therefore how much you want to pump more easily.

Travels Easily

The unit goes into the handbag or diaper bag for those times you’ll be away from your baby. Or when you want to express milk on the go. It’s also portable and not too heavy so you can take it along everywhere you go.

2-Phase Expression Technology

One of the great things about this unit is the 2-Phase Expression Technology that makes expression natural and close to breastfeeding as much as possible.

This not only makes it easy for moms to use it conveniently but also helps them become more efficient in producing and storing milk for their babies.

If you’re looking for an effective way of breastfeeding your baby for as long as you want, then this unit is worth considering.

Customer Reports

I love this manual breast pump. I am able to actually express my milk quicker with this pump then I am with any electric breast pump. I’m able to empty both breasts within 15 to 20 minutes. And that is with pumping 4 to 5 ounces from each breast. I love the handle as it helps to keep my hands from cramping which is nice. I found that if you don’t wash the handle which has the rubber ring on it then you really don’t ever have an issue with needing to replace the O-ring on it like some of the other reviewers have said. I’ll just wipe the handle down with the baby wipes every once in a while.

Wow, I really am impressed with this simple pump and it’s cost. You control the speed and force of the pump and it seems to be a better pull of the nipple and areola. I think breastfeeding moms who were not getting results with electric pumps should give this a try. Your hands don’t get as tired as you might think. Love it because you can pause and walk around. You’re not stuck hooked up to the pump and to an outlet. Also, refrigerate the whole thing and come back to it later. Easy to clean. I could go on and on!

6. Ameda Purely Yours Ultra Breast Pump – Complete With Accessories

This is another brand of breast pump from Ameda, a reputable manufacturer.

This is a lightweight, portable electric pump. A BPA-free material pump, which comfortably runs on 6AA batteries or other power sources.

The Ultra Breast Pump comes with suction and speed control settings for mom’s comfort.

Its Airlock features mean no pathogens can thrive inside the Amedy.

This breast pump for small nipples comes with 3 breast flange sizes—standard, medium and large–to find your best fit.

Small, x-large, and, xx-large sizes are also available but sold separately. This makes the unit great for those with tiny nipples and especially great for moms on the go.

What We Like

  • Customizable for with different breast flanges
  • Swivel grip means no risk of muscle fatigue
  • Simple assembling and cleaning
  • Hygiene design
  • Easy portability

What We Dislike

  • Its spare parts not readily available
  • Somehow noisy

The Verdict

One of the great things about this breast pump is that it has a great storage system. Although it’s good for people using it in the comfort of their own home, it’s even better for those on the go.

Its speed and suction dials are also very effective, which means you get more control of the pump, the freedom to pump the way you like. And most importantly, it has fewer parts to clean after use, which is a blessing to the busy mom.

And if you have a small breast, you’ll love the features this pump offers.

Very good. It fits me very well. I love it so much. It helps me grow the breastmilk.

Kristy Kimbrell

With my last child, I used the Medela pump in style. My daughter had two hospital stay. One Nicu and one Pic before she was 20 days old.

In the hospital, I used both their Medela and their Ameda pumps. I found that Ameda works better for me, but I had already bought the Medela, so I used that when I went back to work. I was never able to pump as much with the Medela as with the Ameda, even with each brands hospital grade machines.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How Do I Identify a Suitable Breast Pump?

Here is the deal. Before you can choose the right one, you must first examine your needs.

What exactly do you want in a breast pump? What features are best for you? And how much are you willing to drop for one?

The vital point here is understanding your needs!

Once you understand your need, you’ll be able to identify EXACTLY what you want in a breast pump.

And that’s how you know one when you see it. Once you understand what you want from it and your budget in your hand, you can compare the different models on this page more easily.

For example, you may only need a manual breast pump if you intend to do minimal expression. However, if you’re exclusively pumping, you may need a more powerful and efficient type.

And in that case, a double electric breast pump is a better option than a manual one.

And that takes us to the next question…

Do I Need More than One Breast Pump?

Typically, you don’t need more than one breast pump.

They often come with enough accessories to make pumping easy.

But sometimes you just need to pump more. And those small bottles with the breast pump are not enough.

When looking to produce more or store in large quantities, you can consider buying more than one.

But you have to be careful not to waste the milk though. Sometimes, when stored for too long, breastmilk gets spoilt or loses some of its nutrients.

In another spotlight:

Sometimes, manufacturers have more accessories to sell with their breast pumps. Say, you can buy extra storage bottles.

You can choose those and store them in the freezer.

It’s important to state at this point though…

Buying more than one breast pump can bring about efficiency. You can pump more. And you can fit pumping more easily into your schedule.

It’s all for you to think through and choose. After that, you can worry about…

What Brand Is the Best?

There are a lot of reputable brands out there that you can trust.

We all love specific brands for specific reasons. It could be because it’s easier to use their products than others. Ore because their price is often cheaper than others without a sacrifice in quality.

In any case, you should compare more than one brand and see which one offers the best option. And if you’re buying for the first time, that’s even better!

If you’re buying on a budget, a brand like Medela is a good option.

They have a lot of cheaper breast pumps in that category. They also have top-of-the-line models that are more expensive.

Another good option is Lansinoh. They’re one of the best when it comes to matching quality at a good price. They’re reliable too.

They’re not as popular as Medela so you may not hear their name often. And that’s probably because they’re more dedicated to breast pumps…

Another brand worth mentioning is Spectra USA. This is an indigenous brand. When it comes to stylish yet quality breast pumps, you can trust them.

Looking for Manual Breast Pump for Small Breasts?

Looking at all of these breasts, you’ll quickly see they are all-electric breast pumps. If you are looking for the best manual breast pump for small breasts, you may find it difficult finding one that’ll suit you.

This is not because there is a shortage of manual breast pumps on the market. Rather, finding one that’ll suit a small nipple may not be as easy as find an electric model.

As we continue to look out for more models, we’ll update this guide with a manual breast pump that’ll suit you.

Final Words

Choosing a breast pump shouldn’t be a do or die affair if you know what you are looking for.

However, when it comes to choosing the best breast pump for small nipples, you may need to do your research and select carefully.

Yes, there are many quality breast pumps out there, but only a few caters for those with smaller nipples. That’s why this guide is so useful for mothers looking for these kinds of products.

In this guide, there are three of the top models on the market that are suitable for you and your baby.

Whether you are on the go or in the comfort of your home, one of these is going to help you get your pumping going.

When you choose the best breast pump for small nipples, you are able to produce milk at the right time, and provide your baby his/her food just when he/she needs it.

Finally, our recommended breast pump for small nipples is the Lansinoh Smartpump Double Electric Breast Pump.
