September 30th: Summer of Creativity Grants
Young change-makers can now apply for a Summer of Creativity Grant to help make their community greener, safer, smarter, healthier, cleaner, or fairer. Winners receive a $500 grant to help make a lasting, positive change in the world.
The goal? To recognize young change-makers, and support them on their mission to help others.
December 31st: Walmart Community Grant Program
Walmart believes in operating globally and giving back locally - creating impact in the neighborhoods where we live and work. Through the Community Grant Program, our associates are proud to support the needs of their communities by providing grants to local organizations.
Rolling: Home Depot Community Impact Grants
Grants, up to $5,000, are available to non-profit organizations and tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. that are using the power of volunteers to improve the physical health of their community. Grants are given in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase of tools, materials, or services.
Rolling: KaBoom! Grants
One of the biggest challenges many communities face in their efforts to prioritize play is fundraising. That's why KaBOOM! offers grant opportunities to help communities take bold steps toward beginning or completing playspace projects. Applications for Build it with KaBOOM! Grants are accepted on an ongoing basis and approximately 175 - 200 nonprofits and municipalities are awarded annually as funding becomes available.
Starts this September: Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
Recognizes students in grades 5-12 who have demonstrated exemplary community service. The program was created in 1995 and is sponsored by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). Over the past 12 years, the program has honored more than 75,000 young volunteers at the local, state and national levels.
December 5th: Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships
Each student selected as a Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship, as well as a $5,000 grant made in his/her name to the hunger-related charity of his/her choice in his/her local community. Each national scholarship recipient will be recognized at the annual Sodexo Foundation Dinner in Washington, D.C. All transportation, meals, and lodging for the student and up to two immediate family members will be paid for by Sodexo.
