Anyone who has ever been lucky enough to see the brother and sister duo of Cole and Logan Layman, collectively known as In Layman Terms, knows that they are a powerful musical force with a bright future ahead of them. But, even if they weren't an award winning act, they would still be deserving of recognition for their efforts to make the world a better place.

Did you know that there are more than 21.8 million veterans in the United States or that war veterans make up 40 percent of homeless men in America? Veterans and service members have done a lot for our country. With Veterans Day coming up on Tuesday, November 11th, it's our turn to applaud their efforts and show our appreciation. 

Did you know that one out of four teens is bullied, and 80% of the time an argument with a bully ends up with a fight. An estimated 160,000 students stay home from school every day for fear of being bullied and the resultant humiliation. It's a tough world out there, and it's toughest in middle and high school. Bullying is a serious issue, and it is important to bring awareness to the dangers.

Today's #servicespotlight shines on 2014 Hasbro Community Action Hero Semi-Finalist, Grace Callwood of Abingdon, Maryland! Grace started serving at a young age by volunteering with her family when she was just two years old. At the age of 7, after being diagnosed with cancer, Grace decided that she would donate all of her new school clothes to two young girls living in a homeless shelter, thus beginning the We Cancerve Movement.

We have some great suggestions for how you and your family can help older adults in your community. You can help a senior create an emergency plan and kit in the event of disaster, visit a nursing home or assisted living facility, deliver meals to homebound seniors and much more, today and beyond.
